Snow Leopard: Playstation 3 SIXAXIS bluetooth pad works wirelessly without drivers

In Snow Leopard, you don’t need to install any special drivers to use a Bluetooth SIXAXIS / Dualshock3 PlayStation 3 pad. Simply connect it with an USB cable, then hold the PS button down for a few seconds. You can then unplug the cable and voilà, the pad is paired (although the 4 red leds will always blink, it works). To turn it off and disconnect, hold the PS button again for a while.

  1. Now we just need to find something with which to use it.

  2. no it is not. at least, for me. yes – it shows up, but after 10 secs or so – disconnects. tried everything. same luck.

  3. Well it worked for me on a few games like the Lego Star Wars and other Lego games but I can not change the button positions to the same as they are on my wired controller. I have the buttons on my wired controller arranged like they are on the PS2 and PS3.

This post was mentioned on Twitter by Gernot: So pairing the PS3 controller to the mac w/o drivers works and is really cool and stuff, but what can I now do with it? http://is.gd/4Rj5Q...
